David Cook brings The Declaration Tour to the Keswick Theatre

America voted during the seventh season of American Idol and crowned David Cook their new champion. On May 21, 2008 Cook received 56 percent of the votes between him and idol runner-up David Archuleta. On Friday July 31, 2009 the Idol winner will be at the Keswick Theatre in Glenside, PA.
A week after being crowned Idol, Cook was able to accomplish something that had not been done since the Beatles in 1964. He had 11 songs debut on Billboard’s Hot 100 chart. The song he sang to win American Idol, “The Time of My Life,” was the highest debuting new entry of 2008 at number three.
Cook was able to get back to the Idol stage during the final of season 8. He performed his song “Permanent” in honor of his late brother Adam. That live version was released on iTunes and 100% of the proceeds when towards Accelerate Brain Cancer Cure. His brother was a victim of brain cancer.
Now, more then a year later Cook has been on tour since the middle of February. The tour that was originally scheduled to wrap in April has been extended to run through October. The tour is in support of his platinum selling, self-titled debut album (19 Recordings / RCA Records).
Cook has also performed during many sporting events. He has performed the “The Star-Spangled Banner” at Game 3 of the 2008 NBA Finals, during opening week of the 2008 NFL season, and before the MLB All-Star Home Run Derby in July 2009. “I’m a huge baseball fan, so to get to be here for All-Star Week and be involved it’s massive,” Cook said about the experience.
While on stage Cook tries to bring a certain feel and experience to all his fans in attendance. On Cook’s official website, he states “Being able to make a 16,000-seat arena feel intimate is one of the trickiest things to pull off. If you can get the people in the nosebleed seats to feel as though they’re getting the same show as the people sitting front and center, then you're doing something amazing. That’s always going to be my goal.”
The Keswick Theatre is located at Easton Road @ Keswick Avenue, Glenside, PA 19038
